Twin Spica

Twin Spica summary: Asumi Kamogawa, a petite 14-year-old, possesses an unbridled adoration for the cosmos, particularly the twinkling stars. Under the tutelage of an affable ghost who wears a colossal lion head and goes by the nickname "Lion-san," she has been studying space since infancy. Despite an unsteady home life, Asumi resolves to join the Tokyo Space School. In no time, Asumi befriends a cadre of classmates, including her childhood friend Shinnosuke Fuchuuya, who sports spectacles and harbors a staunch brutal honesty, Kei Oumi, a cordial young woman who drew inspiration from Neil Armstrong's photos of the moon landing, Marika Ukita, an enigmatic and stunningly gorgeous girl with a few secrets of her own, and Shuu Suzuki, a bold and bright boy who maintains a laidback approach. The setting of Futatsu no Spica is an alternative future in which Japan's maiden human-crafted spacecraft crashed in 2010, and it follows the growth of these high schoolers as they travel toward the stars.
