Blue Period

Blue Period summary: Yatora Yaguchi is a high school sophomore who is tired of the same old routine. Despite excelling academically and enjoying his social life, he feels unfulfilled and longs to break free from societal expectations. He admires those who go against the grain and do things their own way. One day, Yatora stumbles upon a stunning work of art made by a member of the Art Club. He becomes fascinated by the bold colors used in the painting and soon discovers his own love for drawing. Through an art exercise, Yatora tries to express himself with paint and feels a spark ignite within him. He decides that he is meant to make art and that it's the career path he wants to pursue. However, Yatora encounters many obstacles along the way. His parents are hesitant to support his unconventional choice, he must compete with more experienced artists, and he realizes just how deep the subject he's chosen truly is.
